My Comment, "Pew performed research on the makeup of Congress that provides for interesting reading. It's also important to address the office of the President as they have qualifications that must be met.
To be eligible to run for President of the United States, a person must meet the following qualifications:
1. Age: The person must be at least 35 years old.
2. Citizenship: The person must be a natural-born citizen of the United States. This means that the person was born within the borders of the United States or was born to U.S. citizen parents, regardless of where they were born.
3. Residence: The person must have been a resident of the United States for at least 14 years.
These qualifications are laid out in the U.S. Constitution, specifically in Article II, Section 1, Clause 5. It's important to note that there are no other formal qualifications for running for president, such as educational or professional requirements. However, candidates typically have extensive experience in politics, public service, or other related fields.
At least 81 voting members of Congress are foreign-born or have at least one parent born in another country, according to a Pew Research Center analysis of members’ biographical information gathered from the Congressional Research Service, news articles, congressional offices, and other sources.
