LCDR Maryanne Luck, a native of Portland, Oregon enlisted in the US Navy in December of 1999.
In 2001, she completed the Basic Russian Course at the Defense Language Institute, Foreign Language Center and continued her training at Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, TX, Naval Air Crew Candidate School (NACCS) Pensacola, FL and Fleet Aviation Specialized Operations Training Group Pacific (FASOTRAGRUPAC) North Island, CA. Ultimately reporting to Naval Security Group Activity (NSGA) Misawa AFB, Japan, in March of 2002 until March 2005. As an enlisted Sailor she also served at Navy Information Operations Command, Suitland April 2005 – October 2008, before reporting to Naval Officer Candidate School Newport, RI in November of 2008.
Since commissioning LCDR Luck has served as: Information Operations Planner at JFCC-NW; Cyber Planner at the National Security Agency, Washington; Future Operations Cyber Lead and Force Manager at Commander TENTH Fleet, Maryland; Information Warfare Officer onboard USS O’KANE (DD-77); 502 Combat Mission Team, Team Lead/Mission Commander, NIOC Hawaii; Task Unit ONE, Commander (under Task Force – Pacific), NIOC Hawaii. Mostly recently LCDR Luck served as a FLTCYBER Liaison Officer, representing USCYBERCOM interests and equities, to another government agency, prior to her current tour where LCDR Luck serves as a Military Professor at the United States Naval Academy, in the Cyber Science Department.
