The first washer and dryer my wife and I bought lasted 24 years, The first refrigerator and freezer lasted almost 30 years. Now they have energy star appliances. My energy star appliances crap out at about 7-8 years. I asked my appliance repair guy, why? He told me the reduced the weight and quality of the materials in the appliance to reduce the wight of their moving parts and thus save on electricity.
I guess buying and disposing of major appliances 3-4 times more frequently is more environmentally friendly and easier on our wallets.
DC is full of idiots. And the liberal/progressive Democrats are the most idiotic of the idiots.
