President Biden calls on Congress to crack down on 'junk fees'

Does that go for the IRS junk fees too? Seriously, there are more important things than this, you know like SECURING THE FREAKING BORDER!

The ones that get me are the phone bill.

I have 3 lines at $40 / line. On top of that I am paying $23 / month on the installment plan on wife's phone and $35 / month for internet. Total: $178. My phone bill.... $238. $60 in "911 fees" "cellular tax" "federal phone surcharge" "installment plan insurance" etc. Every month. And all of my lines (to include internet) are unlimited so it's not data I am paying for.

Ridiculousness.

And what REALLY gets me is that none of the providers seem to be able to tell you what the fees are actually for, who gets the money, or what they will be ahead of time. It's always a surprise! With no option of refusing the service or denying payment. We'll tell you AFTER you use the service and the money is due how much you actually owe.
