As exemplified by its slogan of "blood and soil," VA ties national identity with racial identity. The group believes that the United States is meant exclusively for the white nation.
In December 2016, authorities discovered VA fliers posted on the University of Maryland campus.
During the 2016-2017 school year, the Anti-Defamation League discovered 32 incidents of VA propaganda on university campuses in Arkansas, California, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, and Washington. Chat messages, images, and videos leaked from the server of a white supremacist group called Patriot Front purport to show its leader and rank-and-file members conspiring in hate crimes, despite their claims that they are a legitimate political organization.
Patriot Front, or PF, formed in the aftermath of the 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in which one attendee rammed his car into a crowd of counterprotesters, killing one and injuring 35 others.
PF founder Thomas Rousseau started the group after an image posted online showed the now-convicted killer, James Alex Fields Jr., posing with members of white supremacist group Vanguard America shortly before the attack.
Vanguard America soon dissolved, and Rousseau rebranded it as PF with the goal of hiding any involvement in violent acts.

The DOJ wrote in a press release that “Donner stopped, got out of the car, and approached the victim while brandishing a knife” then “threatened the victim, yelled racial slurs, and told the victim that Paola is a ‘white town.’

“Authorities are investigating a Massachusetts shooting that left two Black people dead as a hate crime after investigators found "some troubling white supremacist rhetoric" in the gunman's handwriting, officials said Sunday.
Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins, who identified the suspected gunman as 28-year-old Nathan Allen, said during a press conference on Sunday that investigators found "antisemitic and racist statements against Black individuals."
