At the end of the 11th century, West Roman Christianity was spreading out in all directions. The First Crusade set out to recapture the Holy Land from Islamic rule. The Seljuk takeover of the region threatened the local Christian populations, pilgrimages from the West, and the Byzantine Empire itself. It was not a battle of cultures, not a struggle against Islam, but a chaotic confrontation of warlords and princes.

All in all an excellent video.
Part I The Protestant Reformation
The video starts beyond Medieval times.
A huge number of accusations of witchcraft during medieval times also as an excuse to kill people in Europe (not mentioned). Maybe that was directed at the Protestants as "heretics"?
Last I knew the Crusades also targeted Jews in Palestine.
Jews and Muslims allied to fight the Crusaders.
The Crusades were also a lame excuse to massacre Jews in Europe.
Terrible "antisemitism" targeted non-Christians (non-Catholics too). Germany was one of the worst.
It seems the series of Crusades was a disorganized effort of disaffected radicals.
It's no wonder the Templars were eventually ostracized.
Some misleading misinterpreted information about Islamic theology at the start. (I suppose it is to be expected from non-Muslims. If not, I prefer humorous sarcasm, like Mrs. Betty, lol, as a way to do that instead of "educational videos".) At least they got it right about the actual meaning of Jihad.
Part II 29:29 "In The Name of Allah". Surprisingly good job. I also learned a few new details of history, too!
Part III The First Crusades - was interesting. Haven't delved much into details of the Crusades. Know of the Muslim/Arabic influence in Sicily. The didn't mention that Roger II of Italy spoke Arabic.
