Why Did the US Navy Hold a Funeral for a Kamikaze?

I went to see the Missouri in 2011 on a civil Affairs exercise that was on Oahu at Fort Shafter and at Schofield Barracks. I went to the spot where the kamikaze crashed and to the spot where they signed the Japanese instrument of surrender.

Just pointing this out... Not looking to draw any hate BUT in the animation the ship that the narrator is referring to is NOT the USS Missouri, nor is the illustration a battleship (BB) at all. the Illustration used is an Alaska Class (CB-1) Battle Cruiser.
