So you guys are for getting rid of jobs? Hmm weird. Also "army" of agents? LOL. You guys are so dramatic.
This is what those 87K would have been: "A Treasury Department report from May 2021 estimates the extra money would allow the agency to hire around 87,000 new employees — which could include revenue agents and customer service and IT staff — by 2031." That doesn't sound like an "army" nor very intimidating at all. Add in the IRS has been underfunded for years, has a processing system more than 50 years old and a backlog of millions of unprocessed paper filings, you'd think that people would welcome the IRS getting more support.
Oh but wait - they were going to have agents going after the wealthy and big businesses that have been evading taxes for years. Makes sense.
