I totally get wanting to be home for the Winter Holidays....but it was reasons such as this that kept me on base during Winter Block Leave.

My husband went to Reno, NV for his mother's 93rd birthday on Dec 20, and returned to El Paso on the Dec 22; that is the ONLY reason he traveled so close to Christmas. He was one of the lucky ones: his original flight was delayed, but he made it home only 5 hours late. I feel so awful for everyone else.
