Yes, it is troubling. Allowing these predators and the entire organization that protects them to simply go on doing ANY business in the US by absolving them of their debts is VERY troubling for Catholics.

“PARIS — An estimated 330,000 children were victims of sex abuse within France's Catholic Church over the past 70 years, according to a report released Tuesday that represents the country's first major accounting of the worldwide phenomenon.
The figure includes abuses committed by some 3,000 priests and other people involved in the church — wrongdoing that Catholic authorities covered up over decades in a "systemic manner," according to the president of the commission that issued the report, Jean-Marc Sauvé.

There are (2) events that have shaped me that I have come to terms with GOD/The Creator (I believe in, just not the DOGMA of ANY religion) that to my core I have NO FORGIVENESS for and I am at peace with my enteral place when that time comes :
1.) Age 8 : Childhood friend Tony Green murdered by rapist. Beheaded
2.) Age 11 : Mother murdered, fire bombed at place of employment by vengeful ex, who a decade later is sentence for attempting to murder his ex-wife by hiring someone to kill her.
My mother spends June - August in intensive care (59 days) w/ 2nd & 3rd °burns over entire body, dies from pneumonia. {Unsolved Murder of Mother, person actually responsible for firebombing never known}.
I forgive neither of these crimes, they are UNFORGIVABLE to me. Period
How GOD sees fit to deal with my unforgiving, I accept.
