Rucking is about cardio fitness and endurance.
Yes, you need some strength, but it is muscular ENDURANCE needed. Weightlifting is all about single rep or small set maxes. Unless you are going to the gym to do 5 sets of 250 reps with 75 pounds on the squat bar, weight training for a ruck is just ignorant. And if you are going to the gym to do 5 sets of 250 on ANY exercise, you are wasting your time - AND pissing off a bunch of other users who want that equipment.
