If you want to be a leader on anything you need to be prepared to spend accordingly. The concept that everyone should contribute equally may look good on paper but lacks the reality of the world situation, especially on climate impact issues.

I'm not an isolationist, never have been, never will be. Anyone, or any country, needs to cooperate with others to achieve common goals. It seems to me that is the current goal of our country's leadership.

Frankly the invasion at our southern border isn't significantly different than its been for decades, it's just politically advantageous to make an issue of it. As I've posted before the US economy is booming which in part, along with Covid and Putins invasion, is the source of our inflation which in reality is less than what the rest of the world is seeing.

Spending levels will forever be the difference between the right and left, but historically it has been the factor that has allowed the US to pull itself up by the bootstraps in troubling times. The current times can most likely be categorized as troubling.

The best leaders I had invested time and, more importantly, competence. Dollars spent was never a consideration.

This is the typical liberal view - spending more means you care more. They literally campaign on dollars spent. Results? Eh. Nor that important. What's important is that we SPENT MORE than our opponents.

"Senator Schmetlap brought $85 million back to Arizona for seniors." What was done, what was accomplished who actually got the money? Don't know, doesn't matter. All that matters is he got the money.

Program is failing? Conservative solution: spend that money on a program that works. Liberal solution: SPEND MORE. Obviously if we just spend more on this failing program, it will suddenly work.

And so it is with climate. The Democrat solution is to just throw a bunch of a money in a pot for someone else to spend. That's not leadership. That is virtue signaling. Worse, it is my "leaders" virtue signaling with MY money.

If we want to be REAL leaders in this realm, we spend the money. But we make sure *we* spend the money. We don't give 2 billion to Central African Climate Solutions, LLC (I made them up) for them to build two windmills. We go in and build 100 windmills ourselves. 100 American owned windmills, that we can make sure stay maintained and operational, and don't last only 3 years before lack of maintenance ceases their functioning.

That is leadership.

SFC Casey O'Mally - Great analogy, all that is on the drawing boards. Programs like that take years or decades. In many cases the moving of technology and manufacturing back to the US, which has already begun, is needed before those windmills can be made in the US.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - I appreciate your view however the isolationist is the current administration. Today, our concern is for the rest of the world and the U.S.A. follows behind as the caboose.

IMMIGRATION: The body of law governing U.S. immigration policy is called the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). The INA allows the United States to grant up to 675,000 permanent immigrant visas each year across various visa categories.

The number of illegals that crossed the border since the current administration took office is reported by the CBP at ~5 million illegals. The prior number for the year preceding this administration was 707K. Mathematically, that is a substantial increase and due to the open border policy.

FENTANYL: 11/07/2022 - ST. LOUIS – The Drug Enforcement Administration St. Louis Division broke its fentanyl seizure record in the fiscal year 2022 with more than 671 pounds of the deadly opioid. That’s a 41% increase over the 396 pounds seized in the last fiscal year, and more fentanyl seized than the last two years combined. [Source - DEA]
