An amazing feat of airmanship, taking off in summer heat from an airfield over 5900 feet altitude loaded down with over 820 people and delivering them safely. I'm very unhappy with the senior leadership of our country for ordering this terrible withdrawal. But I'm very proud of the way the armed services performed in unbelievable circumstances to execute this mission impossible.
God bless and keep the souls of our people who died that day. Without personnel like those just honored, it would have been much worse.
