It looks to me to be a movie built for people who have a passing knowledge of D&D, but aren't really gamers. With enough Hollywood thrown in to create a passable action movie.
I am guessing hard core gamers are going to watch the whole thing, but when it's over, they will walk out passed off.
Yet another instance of nerd stuff being taken mainstream.

I want to publicly state I was wrong. This movie was FANTASTIC and DEFINITELY made with actual gamers both on the writing staff and in the hearts of the production crew.

Interesting clip. Glad to see that the movie does have Dungeons and Dragons references including classes and monsters (e.g. mimic)...
