Inaccurate headline. The court did not block her, she blocked herself.
According to the article, her legal Guardian was OK with the abortion. Instead of getting getting a written waiver, she went to court. The court can grant WAIVERS. As in "no" is the default. The court denying a waiver isn't blocking anything, it is refusing to remove an EXISTING block.
All she had to do was get her Guardian to sign off. Her failure to do so caused this situation. And it lends pretty strong evidence, IMHO that no, she is NOT mature enough and responsible enough to make that decision.
Court ruled correctly. Good for them.
