Free speech doesn't mean that your speech is free from consequences. I'm glad he was fired for disrespecting the flag.

This guy isn't a teacher! He's everything our flag doesn't stand for. I'm glad a "Student" had enough sense to call him on it. Adios shithead. We don't need more scum like you teaching kids anything.

Think that teacher has the guts to trample on the flag here? I think all his students should visit this place and the Fired teacher should have to pay the bill. People that sit at home while we die to protect there rights make me sick.

PO2 (Join to see) - "I would like to also point out that it is not a schools JOB to teach your children" What exactly is a school's job if not to teach? I teach my children the values of life every day, and everyday they get on a school bus to learn, reading, writing and arithmetic. If the school would just teach and not try and shove a political agenda down my kids throats that would be awesome.

When I was in school .. dissing our Flag in whatever way was not done in our “Demographic Community”.
It just was NOT done.. if it happened elsewhere our little town paper buried it back by the obituaries. A 1” square article. It was not getting big press. Why? The editor said if he gave it big press , he was subjorning what they did.
It p.o.’d him in the utmost. He didn’t want that protestor getting front page when our troops were giving “their all” on a battlefield in Nam.
When those came.. they got front page coverage. Time and date as
When services would be. A lot of
People seen these kids on the football field and basketball court.
And they wanted to honor them .
I was in AFJROTC and we had a Honor Color Guard there, along with the V.F.W. and the American Legion .
The Army or Corps be so busy they only sent two to do the folding and
presenting and the V.F.W. or Legion did the rifle volley.. We were given the time off for the funeral only but we said we were invited to the reception too(which we were ). And it’d be 10 to 3 so only 10 minutes of school left.... we only went back to get the Colors returned to our building .. when it was on a Friday..
even better, by Monday it was a non issue with some teachers.. Some didn’t believe in the war and if we had assignment due , we had good
Classmates (usually in ROTC also)
That got them turned in for us. We may of had an A paper but lost a 1/2 grade because of that absence.. and another 1/2 for just because ..
getting even wasn’t in the picture..
we didn’t do that for s’thing like that.. These teachers throw every student in the same kettle that we all going to get even.. it was the losers that dipped to that.. We honored a classmate that served our nation and that teacher did what she did..
now these days a kid skips out and goes to world peace day to wave a banner and whatever else.. and gets a “citizenship“ grade or some recognition. Any class work due is
Excused .. Well did they bring a letter back from the committee verifying their presence during the whole event.. if not.. why? We brought one back signed by the funeral director or Staff member.
Each guard member had their own signed excuse letter with their name.
No general letter.. seen those .. these were time stamped... for the service time . So reception after time didn’t. One director did cover the whole time, service and reception. He sent the letters ahead to the school. So we were covered.
