I worked my way through college. Why didn't they? BTW, there's a fourth "common sense" solution to student debt that isn't mentioned in this video. Enlist and serve your nation after Congress expands the the GI Bill to help pay down student loans subject to completion of honorable service.

The Army Reserve had a student loan repayment program, I used it back in 1992 to get my second degree, end up staying in for 23 years. Plus it had a college kicker back then that paid you extra for going to school. Not for paying of someone else's debt, it is called being responsible. My kids have or are paying theirs off.

I also worked my way through multiple degrees -- It took 10+ years after H.S., but zero debt...
