SFC (Join to see) I'd start a scholarship fund for high school students that joined the military within a year the end of their senior year. When they finish their time in the military (with an honorable discharge of course) whether it was a four-year hitch or career they could go to the college of their choice picking up the tab for whatever their GI Bill didn't including books.

You're a good man. I would probably give away a good chunk of it to charities. There are some local hospitals and schools that does some amazing work with special needs children. They aren't big like the ones you see on TV every night, but they do good work.

Cpl Vic Burk Family first pay my son's and grandson's mortgages, help my daughter with her business and a new home, set up education funds for two youngest grandchildren, take wife on world cruise, build my modest dream home and the last one my wife and I will live in. Help my sisters her oldest daughter, my niece. Help some very close friends I have trusted with my life.

Then create a 501c3 to support scholarships, and other important things to me to give back to the community.

Also, I would support wholeheartedly helping veterans with GI Bill debt, and healthcare debt plus support T2T for wounded vets in need of housing! What good is money if you don't make it work for you.

Also help Shriners and St Jude for Kids!

Of course, I would put some aside and live of interest and just have fun with my wife and the grandkids!

Just whimsical thoughts.........

Oh, [~202964-92a: enlisted-automated-logistical-specialist] "Render unto Caeser what is Caeser's..." and move one with >$600 million that is now all yours to invest how you want. It is about having a trusted money manager to help. There are some trusted veterans on RP who are excellent that I would trust. Not all, but a select group! They make money, you make money, you get to positively impact others while remaining humble. Hec, I bet Warren Buffet would take a meeting with you and many people love and trust that man for is financial wisdom. Just a thought.....

CPO Nate S. - Veterans are up there on my list but I would also take care of my children and make sure they are set for life. I have no grandchildren as or right now with little probability that this will occur.
Shriners is my favorite charity so they too would receive a good buck annually.

It would be amazing to win the lottery but I'm sure it comes with it's own set of problems.

I would donate 1/2 to Uncle Sam. Oh. Wait. I don't have a choice. Uncle Sam's IRS will take 1/2 - so might as well smile and say I'll donate it! Do you think any of that would go to programs or will it go to line politician's pockets.

The $500 million left?
* Pay off all debts (house, maybe buy more acerage)
* Retirement fund
* Retire "early"
* Build a wood shop and outfit it.
* Cordon off an acre or so for a couple horses.
* Another property & house somewhere in a tropical ocean area (Caribbean, S Pacific, etc)
* Education fund for all the grandkids, nieces, nephews - includes those we spiritually adopted
* Genetic repair research fund/support

Either that or sink it all into Doritos...
