I am confused. The three star general was retired. That title looks different to me. It makes it look like he was active duty. Fortunately, I read the article to find out, like is often the case, the headline is nothing more than an attention getter

Oh and "Army suspends retired three-star general for abortion tweet sent to Jill Biden"
Is hyperbole BS
The Army suspended a private citizen contractor, said the private citizen happens to be a retired 3 star General. The Army did not suspend a 3 star General as the article title implies.
And he did not send an "abortion tweet" He sent a sarcastic tweet that made fun of a woman who belongs to a demographic who just weeks previously, would not state they knew what a woman is.

He was a private contractor, said contract likely had a clause or 20 that lets the issuing agency suspend or terminate the contract for damn near anything

I disagree with this being a *good* reason to suspend him. But you hit the nail on the head. They don't need a good reason, they just need *a* reason. Half the time they don't even need a reason.
