CONFIRMED: CA Attorney General intentionally released CCW and personal info to the public. It was not “leaked” or “hacked”. Attorney confirms that Rob Bonta intentionally released private, personal info in the interest of “transparency” in a dashboard that was available to the public for 16-18 hours.
This information includes but is not limited to: CCW list from 2012-2021, names, home address, CA drivers license #, gender, race, DOB, all DROS info, assault weapon registry, firearm safety cert list, criminal history, and much more.
As a result, there have already been ID theft attacks and cybercrime as a result. This feels like an intentional, malicious, retaliatory attack on law-abiding American/CA citizens as a result of SCOTUS decision supporting the US Constitution.
At best, this was an extremely poor decision but is is more likely gross negligence and irresponsible. I hope there are serious legal consequences for the CA AO and anyone else involved. There has better be financial consideration for those harmed as a result as well. Absolutely infuriating!!!
