Wow, what an incredible story. This pilot lands on a besieged and damaged airstrip to pick up a fellow pilot while his own plane is getting shot up. Was this the night that NVA tanks attacked the Special Forces camp? Unbelievable...

No. Different place. They had a couple of similar instances involving P-51D and P-47D pilots picking up downed buddies in Europe. None got the MoH. . . .
