Interesting read. Drives home how important 'interpretation' is with the courts.

...and all this time you thought that America was just a clown and toy of the UK... Well shit, turns out you were right... Still bringing up crap from the dark ages and attempting to apply it to the modern age... Toss the yoke of the King...yep sure... but still permitting laws centuries old, dictate to a unique American populace...

Unique American populace? Yup, that’s most Americans.
The Brits did indeed lay the groundwork for our Constitution, the people of Britain were constrained by the crown from having weapons. This meant the crown had unlimited power and the people were unarmed.
The framers of the Constitution saw this, and thus made it a right, nay, an obligation, for regular folks to have firearms. It doesn’t always work out like a small group of “modern” insulated folks want it to, but honestly, that’s how it is in America.
We can’t seem to get a Constitutional Convention going to enact federal term limits, I hope to never see one for 2A.

MCPO Hilary Kunz - Magna Carta...like what...? 1215 AD? The framers of our Constitution were the finest souls of the time... Too bad Americans let rainbows unicorns and mentally unfit become unelected dictator's in our "We the People: government.
Laying the foundation was acceptable in 1776-1783-1787... As a "FOUNDATION"... continuing to rely upon that centuries old "FOUNDATION" by continuing to revert back to documents under a Kings rule in our "MODERN COURTS" has its drawbacks when discussing current Constitutional Rights.
Americans should never have to pay to enjoy a CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT. There is old case law in Birmingham Alabama about charging fees to solicit the purchase of bibles door to door...
Which, in my logic, should apply to forced payment of a transfer fee of a firearm to another by way of an unelected agency through over regulated oversight to use a background check upon a potential customer...
a. We pay taxes for police. Taxes at times not well spent. Police(FBI namely) run the NCIC system. Where do all those ATF form 4473 fees go to? WE ALREADY PAY THE POLICE TO PERFORM DUTIES. Double taxation is THEFT. PAYING TO OBTAIN A CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT IS A THEFT OF A CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT.
I agree with term limits. For all elected positions. 2-6's or 3-4's. In any Legislative branch. 12 years max... 24 if your worth electing into the Senate after serving 12 in the House or visa versa... Maximum age limits as well... no older than 67...mandated retirement. Minimum age 43... for every Federal office holder.
No more unelected department heads. DOJ, FBI, CIA, ATF...all those lettered agencies. Same term limits. 24 years max combined with all agencies no more than 12 in any agency.
The fallacy of a Constitutional Convention is...we have far too many liberal voices drowning out conservative values through a manipulated media outlet. A C.C. right now will result in no more 2nd... You know that...so do I.
IMHO of course...

The Bill of Rights derives from the Magna Carta (1215), the English Bill of Rights (1689)
