"At a time when Americans need to pick a side, between democracy and autocracy, between civil rights and loss of liberty, between history, and indoctrination, some White journalists are just whistling dixie. Journalists' words are powerful, and their refusal to infuse humanity in their writing is partly responsible for the brine we find ourselves in. There's nothing objective about omitting a moral perspective or entertaining both sides of police brutality or the school-to-prison pipeline. Maintaining "objectivity" in the face of white supremacist policies, propaganda, or acts of terrorism is not objective at all — it's misleading."
