That’s significant. The size of the sword’s grip indicates it was a two-fisted weapon, intended to be swung about the user’s shoulders to build momentum before impacting the opponent’s body. With a sharp edge, a strong soldier could cut his opponent in two. A soldier wielding such a heavy weapon would have needed powerful arms and chest muscles to kill an opponent with a single stroke.
