But Newt fails to see that it isn't the people, it is society. We need to tackle the root causes of crime, and not be so hard on those poor, unfortunate souls who were FORCED into a life of crime by the cold heartless society they live in. If only we have them MORE things for free with LESS accountability then they wouldn't have turned to crime.
And, of course, if we controlled their lives so completely they weren't ABLE to commit a crime, then they wouldn't be killing people, either.
