Like lots in the military, many things don't change. I had families on food stamps in my squadron in the 80s.

As a 2LT at Fort Knox in 1980 I came within $50 of qualifying for food stamps with four kids.

Maj Robert Thornton - It seems the government posture is always to make cuts after a positive COLA adjustment...essentially taking away what the military were given under the COLA... It seems as if the government wants more and more out of the very people who put their lives on the line for all of us, for less and less to the those who serve... Just saying...

Clinton the budget went down and several forts And air bases, Willow Grove went away oh yeah and a few famed divisions. The 50th Armored Division to name one. And then we had Somalia (Black Hawk Down)and then we had Bush 2. A good guy (Fighter Pilot) you know he had to Use some might to get revenge for his dad. He sure coulda used those cut assets. But considering our enemy. We really didn’t need all at once. But the pentagon complained, “we wouldn’t be able to handle two fronts” so when Obama got in, he figured he keep us out of trouble. At least until the next admin. He would put it all in their laps and in the mean time, he would apologize so everybody would stay off our backs. Not only did he apologize he tried to help arm two factions at once. And had Hillary get an Ambassador (between posts) to go and make the deal. You remember that? It was called Benghazi.
Now at the end of his tenor, their was nobody smart enough in the room. So reluctantly he tried handing it off to Hillary while helping to have some buddies in the CIA, FBI and his AG cover her misdealings as the Secretary of State. To many said what? Wait a minute. The news couldn’t cover it. It was all to suspicious. So Trump (not a politician) won. And wow it was Reagan all over again and better. But people who think like you do couldn’t have that! And I really don’t understand why you would want to cover for what the Democrat party has become. Socialist American Marxists. They are out there saying it and many are afraid to say it but that was what they were taught in college. Is that what you were taught sir?
