Bowsher High School grad who served in Marines honored in wreath ceremony

Wreaths Across America brought its mobile exhibit to Bowsher High School for a Monday ceremony honoring a 2007 graduate from the school.

Medal of Valor recipient Joseph "Mad Dog" Myers served the U.S. Marine Corps in the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines Kilo Company platoon.

He served through 2011, then studied at The University of Toledo and would be known as a loving part of his family, friends and community before dying peacefully on Dec. 2, 2021.

"He was a marine that exhibited integrity and dedication and would go above and beyond the call of duty to protect his brothers," Joseph's mother Elizabeth Myers said.
