A lockdown that was placed on the U.S. Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms has been lifted following reports of shots fired, officials said on Monday.

The combat center tweeted that the shelter-in-place order was lifted around 12:20 p.m., adding that a weapon had been inadvertently discharged.
