Thanx MSgt Robert "Rock" Aldi! This only reaffirms the two Congressional investigations into the slower rate of enlisted promotions in the USAF. Both concluded that retention in the Air Force lags because quality of life and work are better than the other forces, therefore the enlisted tend to re-enlist and stay in the service longer. This means that at all levels of the rank ladder, there are less people leaving so less opportunities. On another note, I would be interested in seeing the breakout between these promotions in the "Space Force" verses the Air Force. Is this a case like TQM in the 90's? Back then, if you were the unit TQM rep, you were practically guaranteed promotion every time.
