In the late 1940s, Russia supplied the Communist forces with captured Japanese artillery and ammunition to defeat Chiang Kai-shek at the same time that our ambassador George C Marshall hated Chinese General Chiang Kai-shek and cut him off from resupply. You could read about it in this book.
