Last week, I went to the Calgary Military Museum and actually saw an Enigma machine. I'm sure there are quite a few in museums but it's not every day that I get to see one.
It was kept top secret for decades that Ian Fleming, the Navy intelligence officer who wrote the James Bond books, had a special team that was trying to steal an Enigma machine from the German Navy. The invasion of Dieppe was the cover story but that was the real goal was to steal one.
I have included pictures of the Enigma machine at the Calgary Military Museum in the comments.
