Well... obviously you are not aware that before President Biden was a truck driver, he was a farmer.

USAID Director Samantha Power got a Yale degree in history, which obviously means she knows more about farming than farmers. And EVERY 1st world commercial farmer is already composting and using manure. 3rd world farmers NEVER stopped.

Ms. Power needs to understand that commercial farmers are way past YouTube University. Same for third world farmers. When I was in Africa touring 32 countries for 2.5 year, never saw a single tractor or combine on a single farm Outside of South Africa. Most of them didn't have anything more sophisticated than improvised tools made from a piece of scrap metal and a tree branch wielded by kids from the village. This is what happens when Agency heads learn from YouTube hobbyists.

Dr. Cecilia Rouse, chair of the Council of Economic Advisors, said gas, energy and food prices are all expected to continue increasing due to sanctions and the surging price of fertilizer during a March 28 press conference. She noted, however, that food prices are not expected to rise in the U.S. since the nation is a net exporter but noted that the U.S. is working with allies to “minimize the impacts” Unfortunately, Dr. Rouse never had an economist explain the laws of supply and demand. Higher international demand and prices will lead to more grain going overseas. Less grain in the American pipeline will drive up prices.

Where do they find such idiots? Quite literally my 13-year-old granddaughter brought me this article and was laughing about what Dr. Rouse had to say.

The green alternatives that she's talking about are less efficient - thus they would drive up cost adding to the the already surging inflation in the EU. Green farming requires more land which will require more resources adding to the cost of production - these added cost will drive up the cost of foods.

If any thing we need better and cheaper fertilizers in third world countries in order to fill the gap in wheat production.
