Math is math...numbers add subtract multiply divide...it has nothing to do with CRT...if they are slipping that into math (don't know how) then they are not the subject at hand and need to not be allowed. IF AND I SAY IF it was a history book maybe there is an argument (I don't agree with CRT) but math is math.

Are these books being banned? Or deemed unsuitable for classroom education? There is a difference. A small one, but it is there.

COL (Join to see) Well, in the most famous of those, Farenheit 451, all books were outlawed and burned on sight. And book owners were punished. In many others, specific books were banned or burned and not available to the public.
Here is a case where the books are still around and available. But the state says they won't buy them and put them in the classroom. Parents can still go get them and use them to teach their children, as can private schools.

SFC Bernard Walko In most cases, yes. I would disagree when it come to math. There is no "age" which is appropriate or inappropriate for mathematical concepts, problems, or procedures.
There *is* a prerequisite level of skill and knowledge for each new skill, which continuously builds upon itself, which means that most kids are not ready for higher level maths until the end of their high school years or even in to college, and some students will never be ready. But this is not a function of age, but skills and knowledge. A 6-year-old who can utilize the quadratic formula is not harmed by the quadratic formula, nor is their development.

SFC Bernard Walko What is wrong with that question? My sister had two mom's; her mom and my mom, who was her step-mother. Now she has three, her mom, my mom, and her husband's mom. I have two moms, two dads, and had three grandfathers and grandmothers prior to their passing. Had my wife's grandparents lived until her marriage, I would have had 5 of each.

SFC Bernard Walko People with two dads is a fact of life. It is no less true than apples, oranges, or candy bars. There is absolutely no reason why this should be excluded from texts. It should neither be glorified, nor demonized. Remember that the targets of these texts are the school children - some of whom have 2 dads, 2 moms, or even three or four parents. Limiting things to strict heteronormativity excludes these students, and teaches them that THEY are different.
Now, is there a good reason to use 2 dads instead of 2 apples? Probably not. But there isn't really a good reason NOT to, either.
And if you think that using 2 dad + 2 dads = 4 dads is somehow teaching morality, then I think you may be hypersensitive. There is neither explicit nor implicit value judgment in that. Do you also think that the math problem 2 candy bars + 2 candy bars = 4 candy bars leads to obesity?

Regarding society in America, many in a widely-conservative state like the laws being passed; those that don’t and can’t deal with it, have the freedom to move to another state they like better. That’s kind of like many that were unjustly banned from popular media platforms and couldn’t fight it (including a duly-elected President), they just had to go find other platform homes.
