Marine Sergeant Mitchell Paige: Valor on Guadalcanal

Im very familiar with this story which my Marine Corps son told me. I then researched it myself. What honor, bravery and distinction. People like this helped to make America great, while the sniffling, gutless little curs hid out in colleges or went to Canada. Not much has changed. If mandatory conscription came back I bet you could easily find the heroes and the cutlass by part lines.

I am an Associate Member of MCL chapter in Riverview, FL (not bad for a Coastie; I’m not sure if they felt sorry for me or they were trying to spruce the place up but I know which theory I’m running with!) and my good friend MSgt Bob Stalker, USMC (Rtd) brings to every meeting his former top in ‘Nam MSgt Johnson USMC (Rtd), who is 95 years old and was island hopping in WW2, including on the first waves of Marines on Guadalcanal. He is one interesting Marine!

It's amazing the bravery shown by so many of our combat Veterans against such danger and odds against them and always seem to rise to accomplish these feats or heroism. My salute to USMC, Sergeant Mitchell Paige.
