Now that underground utility work is nearly finished on Main Street, KC Streetcar workers broke ground Wednesday on construction of the system’s new route from Union Station to UMKC.
In a ceremony at Main Street at Pershing Road, Kansas City leaders said it will take a little more than two years to install the 3.5 miles of rail and infrastructure.
“For UMKC, this extension is not just a game changer, it is a life changer,” said UMKC Chancellor Mauli Agrawal.

Nice share PO1 William "Chip" Nagel. KC Bringing back the Streetcars, a little blast from the past - as KC used to have a very extensive Streetcar system from reading about KC history. Many years back, I know there was a Light-Rail plan that was voted on & I thought had passed, but that plan was ended by the city I believe.

LTC (Join to see) Yes We Did, Unfortunately they destroyed it, buried it. Now after losing Conventions due to Our Lack of Real "Public Transportation" it is Now a Necessity. Glad to See It Progressing. Although Like Everyone Else, I'll be happy when they quick screwing with Main Street. It's been dicked up pretty good for 2 Years Now.
