Pay Rate: $10/hour
Pyramid Pool Monitoring Service is hiring pool monitors for several locations across the metro-Atlanta, Birmingham, and Dallas-Fort Worth areas. We are looking for personable and caring staff for our seasonal job openings. You must be able to spend the summer engaging people of all ages, exercising good judgment, following written and oral instructions and calmly dealing with stressful situations. Qualified candidates will be selected based on the requirements listed below for our seasonal positions.
Key Responsibilities (may vary by location):
Daily cleaning of the pool, bathrooms, and pool area.
Maintaining the pool area in a clean, organized manner including, but not limited to: skimming the pool, sweeping/hosing down pool deck, wiping tables, lowering umbrellas at the end of the day, straightening chairs, removing cob-webs from light posts, emptying all garbage/recyclables into designated containers, sweeping and mopping bathroom floors, cleaning toilets and sinks, and ensuring that bathrooms are stocked with necessary toiletries.
Maintaining the chemical balance in the water on the days the pool is not serviced by the maintenance company.
Placing garbage containers and recycling bins on-curb for garbage collection day and bringing empty receptacle/bin back up to the clubhouse following garbage pickup.
Strictly enforce all pool rules, noting the names/addresses of neighbors who violate pool rules, and requesting those who violate the pool rules, those who have not paid HOA dues, or visitors who do not live in the neighborhood to leave the pool.
De-escalate conflict and report visitors who refuse to leave to the authorities as trespassing.
Prepare and maintain written logs and reports; In addition to any other duties depending on the facility.
Pool Monitor Work Requirements:
Completion of a high school diploma or GED required.
Prior experience as a pool attendant, pool cleaner or lifeguard preferred, but not required.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Ability to manage conflict and associated stress
Ability to stand, sit, bend, stretch, and tolerate prolonged exposure to the sun
Prior experience handling pool chemicals and cleaning preferred.
Possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
Must be authoritative when asking people who violate pool rules or should not be using the pool to leave.
First Aid/CPR certification preferred but not required.
Teachers, retirees, or college-aged students looking for a summer job are strongly encouraged to apply.
Able to work 3-4 days per week; Shifts will typically be 11am – 9 p.m. on some weekdays and weekends with flexible hours during the months of May-September. Shifts are broken up into 4 and 5 hour increments.
SPECIAL NOTE: This position is not slated to begin until mid-May 2022. Applicants must be willing to work on all major Summer holidays including Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day (July 4th), and Labor Day.
