COMMENTS: Terry O’Sullivan, general president of the Laborers’ International Union of North America said, “We support the President’s campaign to ‘build back better. But for union members affected by this decision, there are no renewable energy jobs that come even close to replacing the wages and benefits the Keystone XL project would have provided. Killing good union jobs on day one with nothing to replace them, is not building back better. Hopefully, the Biden Administration will not continue to allow environmental extremists to control our country’s energy agenda at the expense of union construction workers being forced to the unemployment lines.”

TODATE: According to a study from the State Department, 26,100 indirect and direct jobs would have come from the Keystone XL pipeline project, through its construction and supply chain that provides lodging, food, and health care to workers in small towns across several states.
No evidence has been submitted to show any of these workers have found other jobs in the green energy sector or otherwise. The union members are now collecting unemployment compensation that is a fraction of what they made in wages. According to locals they are not seeing any of the promised jobs as of this post.

It's all about power, using fear to take away self-determination. For example, climate change has been occurring ever since there was an Earth, long before there were people and SUVs. We can no more stop it than start it. Rather than fear it, we should understand it and adapt to it. But our fearless leaders choose to use our fear of it to change our lifestyles. Sadly, they have no understanding of economics, especially monetary policy, and are destroying that which we have built by our individual efforts. I'm not sure they actually believe that they can make better choices than us. They merely see making choices for us as a sign of power.
