Former Marine combat veteran Dennis Diaz watched helplessly as images splashed across his television screen of Ukrainian women and children hunkering down to shelter from Russian invaders.
The unrest reminded him of why he enlisted in the military in 2000 and pushed him — now, after 18 years in the reserves — to head into battle again.
Only this time his duty is pledged to Ukraine.

If you decide to go fight in Ukraine I wish you safety and God’s speed. But who medically covers you if you suffer mental or physical damage? Ground pounding is hard on your body, war can damage your mind. If you donate money to help Ukrainians chose a reputable charity rated by charity watch dogs like Charity navigators.

The Ukrainian military needs Reception Staging Onward Movement and Integration for the volunteers. However, I don’t know if they have that capability.
