Here is an old 2018 article explaining why we need to engage with Iran and cannot be ignored or forgotten
1. We already imposed sanctions and they did not work to make Iran give up nukes
2. Iran's nuclear weapons could be an excuse of Israel and/or Saudi Arabia to strike and drag us into another war in the Middle East based on international relations
3. Iran is another threat to Europe / NATO along with Russia
