Good morning Sergeant, I believe I have an answer to your question, the way I was taught it in college for my degree, is that 'stress' is any form of physical, social, financial, etc. that can elicit some form of emotional or physical response within us. It is the psychophysiological response to something that removes us from our comfort zone. Anxiety on the other hand, would be a normalized emotional response to stress. For example: A soldier can experience anxiety from interacting with officers or high ranking NCOs, due to some kind of previous interaction with them. An example of stress would be going through basic training, or an intense school, like EOD or SERE school.
