"Coal Ash Is More Radioactive Than Nuclear Waste"
An editor's note mentions the misleading headline. However, reading it and the rest of the article, although the headline is not precise, it does not appear to change what the content presents.
Note that it is a 2007 article. So why feature a 2007 article 15 years later in a 2022 current newsletter? Maybe to wait until more coal mining and burning operations shut down? After all an informed public might interfere with profits from and industry by putting pressure on it?
I only know about Four Corners, and not much detail. However, last I knew shutting down coal mining and burning operations were finally underway. Don't know how far into the process, though. There is already more than an ordinary amounts of uranium in the region. PLus it is an area with cluster health problems from which people suffer. Asthma is high on the list attributed to the coal burning industry there. Not so sure radiation from coal burning is common knowledge.
