Americans will have to register to travel to Europe in 2023 - The Switzerland Times

"Currently, a US passport is sufficient to enter European countries for periods of less than 90 days. But that will change next year. Starting in the spring of 2023, US citizens, along with travelers from 58 other countries, will need a visa waiver from the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) to travel to any of the Schengen zone countries for short stays."
