I took a military course and we talked about the Brits and the IRA. For some reason I don’t remember crap except one thing. The Brits used electronics listening devices and inside spies for intelligence to kill the top leaders of the IRA. This helped both sides come to the table.

Here is another of method fighting insurgency. Peru, if my memory is correct Perú was afflicted by violent insurgents. The Peruvian military gave weapons to villages. When the insurgents made contact with villagers, the villagers were able to fix them, which means remove their ability to maneuver. Then the regular army flies in helicopters to take care of the rest.

There are many ways to fight insurgents. We could not crack the code to win in Afghanistan. If you go to a village a few times who owns the village? You need boots on the ground to hold the ground.

My "Relationship" to "Terrorist" the "IRA" is Kind of Weird. I'm a Street Hoodlum from Cincinnati, Oh. My "Sponsor" for Catholic Confirmation was "Big Pete McCarthy" Yeah! Figure it Out! When Muammar Muhammad Abu Minyar al-Gaddafi Put a Price on My Head? Who did He Subcontract? the IRA, That wasn't going to Happen Although an "Attempt" was Made to Look Pretty Real! Yeah You Understand, I'm Still Upright, Sucking Air and Taking Nourishment! I understand on One Level I'm a Terrorist and on Another Level I'm a Target of Terrorist. I'm a Navy Spook! Nothing Makes Sense!

They may be "at peace" but that pot will always be on the stove.
