Nice PO2 Russell "Russ" Lincoln . The Great Horned Owl should be the mascot for Hooters! My uncle had a Great Horned Owl in the 50's. It was ordered from Sears! He released it in the 70's back to the wild to live a free life the rest of it's years.

PO2 Russell "Russ" Lincoln - Of course the owls name was none other than "Hootie." I always wondered if Hootie made it in the wild. My uncle did some taxidermy and whenever I did a squirrel, rabbit or whatever that's what we would feed it. Hootie was a riot to watch. When we threw the meat it he (or she) would dive after it with it claws. It must be innate.

That is amazing, Cpl Vic Burk - also that they are long lived. I have no idea about life spans of birds of any size, but it seems long compared to dogs and cats.
