That sounds pretty accurate. Kentucky hit 1 million cases (since march 2020) 3 days ago. The state has 4.4 million population. My kids have had many NTI (school from home) days because the threshold for COVID had been passed.

I question the number. My wife spent 14 days off work for COVID. She was symptomatic so stayed home. Then got her results as she was starting to feel better. And then had to wait ANOTHER 10 days despite being healthy enough to work.
My brother-in law, who lives with us, never tested positive, never felt sick, but he was out of work for 18 days as he was exposed at work, then at home, then had to wait for results, then had to wait for results to be accepted by employer.
I was out of the office for 13 days, but luckily have a job that I can work from home, so missed no days.
Yes, COVID is keeping people out of work. But just as many are being kept out of work due to policy.
