Illegal Amazon gold seeps into supply chains

I guess you all have heard of "blood diamonds". There seems to be a similar problem with illegal gold mining. It has been happening for decades.

This particular article, from 14 January, speaks of the problem of that gold being purchased by "well-known publicly traded U.S. companies that are legally required to responsibly source metals". Amazon refers to the place, and the company (among others).
