Donald Huisenga left his Iowa high school in 1943 to serve in WWII. He fought in the D-Day invasion and spent six months as a prisoner of war. He always regretted not getting his high school diploma, so at age 98 he was finally able to receive it from his former school with help from the Office of Veterans Affairs. Congratulations Mr. Huisenga on receiving your diploma and thank you for your service!

Excellent share brother Chris Meek , a lot of the Greatest Generation quit school to serve their country.

That's a great story. He should have been named Honorary Class President back in 1943. Credentials are important but character and service are supreme. Congratulations Donald Huisenga and my Virtual Salute.
