It seems as I understand it there is a 8 year warranty on the batteries then the cost which isn't small is on You, look at the size of the battery pack shown here. These are also not safe to dispose of and so far there is no solution to that. Some of these vehicle have exploded into fire anyway without it being deliberate and it has even taken as long a 8 hours to put the fire out. It'd hazardous chemicals within 4,680 batteries that are burning. No thank You, given the current level of technology I'm sure not ready to gamble with anything like that in terms of hazard or expense. In order to change the battery the entire car has to be lifted and the old battery assembly removed and the new one lifted into place from the vehicle underside for installation.

SGT Charlie Lee - I'm also not against research in this are but I don't feel they are yet practical or safe for the market yet. Maybe a day will come that they are but even the electric charge to drive and a day to day basis won't get You very far and in most cases 250 to 300 miles or less. A charge takes a while and first You have to find a station or keep it plugged in a home. Don't plan on any long car trips.
I have a Chevrolet, Tahoe where i can get 500 miles to a tank of gas and uses 8 cylinders to get up to speed then drops to 4 automatically once up to speed. Around town I get 21.5 Miles per gallon and on a highway even better. The car even tells Me how much further I can go on the amount of gas in the tank and also gives constant information what Your gas consumption is. A Tahoe is a large well equipped comfortable car and I can seat 8 people (with the third seat down which I usually don't use anyway) plus still have storage space behind the third seat even when its down.

I think the plan was to use them in power storage systems initially when they are removed, but year, one day, unless they can recycle the material, its a lot of waste to get rid of.

8 year old car, but it was a Tesla, so its bad. Thats the down side to battery powered anything, the batteries lose their ability to hold a charge, in our regular cars, its our car battery every 5 years, in an EV, its major.
