This should be a yearly ritual to watch this Christmas movie. There is some truth that the Japanese were attacking ships off of California. One Japanese submarine even fired artillery shells into an oil refinery near Santa Barbara. The movie is based loosely on the real paranoia of California in December, 1941
It has an All-Star cast of John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, John Candy, Unsolved Mysteries spokesperson Robert Stack and many others.
This Steven Spielberg movie failed at the box office because its humor was ahead of its time!
I know many of you veterans are down because of feeling alone especially with President Biden purposely fleeing Afghanistan and still having people left behind to this day (including many Canadians and their interpreters).

That's one movie I have on VHS tape. But its been quite a while since I've seen it. Thanks for reminding me.

It's good to know you still have a VHS machine that still works. I have cassettes going back to the early 80s I still work very well. I also did not get rid of the DVD player because it seems like many of the movies that you would think are available on Amazon Prime, Netflix or elsewhere are not available all the time and they rotate them. Some of the movies that used to be on Amazon Prime and Netflix are now on Disney Plus. Sometimes you see movies on Amazon Prime like the movie Tora, Tora, Tora! And they want to charge you $5 for it!
