I've seen two different accounts on this article sir, it's a shame that our ships of battle are in such rough condition MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D.

It's not just the Navy, the Air Force literally wore out the B-1B. Be thankful we're finally out of Afghanistan and can now concentrate on rebuilding what years over there allowed to deteriorate.

This has been obvious if you followed what's been going on in the forward deployed Navy for at least a decade. Ships like the Bonhomme Richard, now scrap, that was about a decade late on a drydock refit and the only reason it was in drydock when it caught fire was that it had become so unreliable that it was barely operational. The two collisions point to the fact that the Navy has been shortcutting training to meet the operational schedule rather than dial it back to meet readiness goals. Then add to the issue that it has always seemed that the Navy tends to scapegoat Commanders for issues that they have no control over.
